Cosmo Dreaming - 17" x 17" Portrait
(Some detail was lost in the white
areas of the cat's fur in this image) 

This is my cat as an adolescent, asleep in the studio. The
detailed background adds a lot of atmosphere and color to the
painting. I chose to render the background in a flat manner,
to emphasize the dreamlike quality. The face hovering behind
his head is a book on Modigliani.
